Hancock’s Deer Greens
Let’s start with our Deer Greens Mix, the star of the photo up above. This blend is optimal for Fall and Winter use, as the cold weather causes the sugar content of the brassicas leaves to rise...making it tempting for bucks!
WHEN: Spring OR Fall (but Fall is ideal!)
HOW MUCH: 10 to 20 lbs. per acre
DEPTH: 1/4 to 1/2 in.
FERTILIZER: 300 to 400 lbs. of 19-19-19 per acre.
pH: 6.0 to 7.0
Hancock’s Spring & Summer Food Plot Seed Mix
When the weather gets warm, local feed can become tough and lose its nutritional value. Our Spring & Summer Food Plot Seed Mix counteracts this trend by offering a protein-packed meal for hungry deer.
WHEN: Wait until there’s no more chance of a late frost!
HOW MUCH: 40 to 50 lbs. per acre
DEPTH: 1/4 in.
FERTILIZER: 200 to 400 lbs. of 5-10-15 OR 10-10-10 per acre.
pH: 6.0 to 6.5
Hancock’s Killer Clover Seed Mix
This blend might not have the word “deer” built into its title, but it’s one of our most successful deer attractants! Our Killer Clover is also one of our toughest, standing up to even the heaviest of grazing.
WHEN: Spring OR Fall
HOW MUCH: 10 to 15 lbs. per acre.
DEPTH: 1/4 in.
FERTILIZER: 300 lbs. 10-10-10 per acre.
pH: 5.5 to 7.5
Hancock’s Fall & Winter Food Plot Seed Mix
Hancock’s Fall & Winter Food Plot Seed Mix keeps the protein coming, even when the weather gets cold! More protein means bigger bucks with bigger antlers, as well as more fawns when the weather warms up again!
WHEN: October through March
HOW MUCH: 40 lbs. per acre.
DEPTH: 1/4 in.
FERTILIZER: 200 to 300 lbs. 16-04-08 per acre.
pH: 5.5 to 6.5
Hancock’s Ultimate Deer Food Plot Seed Mix
This blend takes the best aspects of all of our mixes, adding high protein to a highly tolerant deer forage. This blend will resist drought and heavy grazing, while growing on a wide variety of soil types.
WHEN: Spring through Summer
HOW MUCH: 25 lbs. per acre
DEPTH: 1/4 to 1/2 in.
FERTILIZER: 300 lbs. 10-10-10 per acre.
pH: 5.5 to 7.5
Hancock’s No Till Food Plot Seed Mix
Do you have limited tillage equipment at your disposal? You can still get a great deer plot thanks to Hancock’s No Till Food Plot Seed Mix! This blend will readily take up residence on the soil surface in the most remote locations on your property.
WHEN: Spring through Summer...make sure that the soil temperature is at least 65 degrees.
HOW MUCH: 10 - 20 lbs. per acre, or 1 lb. per 1,000 sq. ft.
DEPTH: Will grow right on the surface!
FERTILIZER: Not necessary!
