3 Reasons to Choose Farmer Direct Seed
Hancock Seed finds it easy to sympathize with family farms because we are, at the our foundation, a family farm. We have grown mightily since our founding in 1978, but the Hancock Farm goes back several generations, on land Francine Hancock inherited from her father, and she and her husband Richard have in turn passed it along to their son, Chris Hancock—our current chief. Our farm and ambitions have grown as Hancock Seed has had success, but we’ve never forgotten our roots.
Chris Hancock describes it as “a seedsman’s life.” Getting up early, tending the land, planting, harvesting, and all the work that comes with the goal of delivering Americans the highest quality seed. This lifestyle describes thousands of American farmers, all across the country. They grow different products, but they share a common goal.
That’s why we’re happy to work directly with family farmers. They’re more than collaborators; they’re kin.
