Hairy Indigo Seed
Hairy Indigo is a versatile summer annual legume that thrives in warm climates and well-drained sandy soils. Renowned for its high-quality forage, it serves as an excellent grazing option for deer, cattle, and other livestock. Studies have shown that Hairy Indigo can produce up to 12 tons of dry matter per acre, with approximately 20% crude protein and 50–60% digestibility, making it a valuable addition to any grazing system. Its deep root system also aids in soil improvement and weed suppression. Hairy Indigo is easy to establish and requires minimal management, making it an ideal choice for sustainable pasture management. Planting is recommended between April and July at a rate of 5 to 8 lbs. per acre.
