Chewings Fescue Grass Seed - Ambrose Chewings Fescue is a cool season bunch grass that is fine leaved, distinctly deep green and offers great shade tolerance. Ambrose is mostly utilized as a turfgrass for overseeding greens but is also well suited for lawn applications across North America. Chewings fescue performs best in well-drained soils and is more drought resistant than bluegrass. Chewings Fescue has a slower growth habit that makes it desirable for low maintenance areas. Chewings Fescue grass seed can be used in mixtures without becoming to aggressive. Seeding should be done in spring or fall. Ambrose is widely known for its reduced rate of vertical growth and extreme tolerance for being tightly mowed. Ambrose Chewings Fescue is a moderately enhanced endophyte chewings fescue with 36% Epichloe typhina endophyte which provides resistance to a number of leaf and crown feeding insects and nematodes.
