Bulldog 505 has been bred to stand up to aggressive grazing and to tolerate strong treading and trampling. Good disease resistance, drought tolerance and excellent winter hardiness are also characteristics of Bulldog 505. Bulldog 505 is a semi-dormant variety that has a Fall dormancy rating of 5.
Alfalfa is a cool season perennial legume that is a favorite summer long forage for turkey, and deer, and is known for increases body weight and antler size for deer. Alfalfa is high in protein and produces tons of high quality forage for wildlife. These plantings also attract beneficial insects for upland game birds and turkeys.

Planting Alfalfa Seed:
Plant in fall (best time for the Southern US) or spring at the rate of 20 lbs. per acre and no deeper than 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Apply 0-20-20 annually at the rate of 500# per acre. After 50% bloom alfalfa should be mowed off or cut and baled into hay and removed from food plot area to allow new tender regrowth.
Instructions
When choosing to start a new lawn, remove old vegetation by using a de-thatcher, power rake or tiller to kill the existing vegetation. Rake or drag the area to remove debris and dead grass for a clean area. Ensure the soil is leveled and loosened to allow the seed to have good soil contact once spread on a clean seed bed.
If you have an area with heavy weed coverage, we recommend starting fresh by killing and removing the existing vegetation. If you choose to use chemicals, herbicides or fertilizers, you must check with the product's manufacturer prior to planting new seed to ensure the proper waiting period.
When overseeding an existing area, mow your lawn at the lowest setting and bag the clippingsx. Rake or drag any areas that have dead thatch or debris.
