Secada Winter Peas are a great cool season legume crop for wildlife food plots, cover crops and winter grazing. Plant winter peas with a clover for a perfect fall winter plot mix. Secada Winter Peas are a WHITE flowering winter pea which makes them very attractive to the animals as they are much SWEETER tasting. Secada Winter peas also have very good nitrogen-fixing capabilities and have been shown to fix over 200 lbs. of nitrogen per acre under correct conditions.
Secada Winter Peas are NOT as cold hardy as other winter peas. They can be planted earlier than other peas and in the South, as they can withstand some heat. Heavy freeze for a few days in a row will mostly likely severely hurt Secadas, if not kill them.
