New Xtra Graze BMR hybrid sudangrass is one of the best sudangrasses available because of its extremely high leaf-to-stem ratio that is shade-tolerant on the lower canopy along with the highest feeding efficiency and improved digestibility in forage trials.
Xtra Graze BMR sudangrass has a high sugar content to improve palatability and feed intake. This means the highest animal performance per lb. compared to other varieties. Xtra Graze BMR also has a relative feed quality comparable to Alfalfa's, making it an excellent choice for a summer annual grass.
Xtra Graze can reach heights of 8-10 feet and will mature 10-12 days later than conventional sorghum-sudangrass hybrids. This sorghum-sudangrass does not tolerate a low pH but has a very good drought stress tolerance. This sorghum-sudangrass is also easy to establish.
