Korean Lespedeza Seed  - (Kummerowia striata) - Korean lespedeza is a heavy seed producing great for hay, pasture, game birds, food plots and erosion control.  Korean Lespedeza is earlier to mature than Kobe making Korean a better species for the Northern climates.  Korean Lespedeza is very popular in food plots for turkey, quail and other game birds.

Type: Warm Season Annual Legume    
Origin: Eastern China, Korea, Japan
Adaptations: Better adapted to the Northern climates
Soil Type:  Well drained, clay or loamy soil. Tolerates acidic soil, poorer soil types.
Uses: Hay, pasture, erosion control, wild game food for deer, turkey and quail.
Benefits: Easy to establish, low maintenance. Low fertilizer and lime requirements.
Nutrition: High quality in mid to late summer.

Planting:
Seed Rate: 30 lb. per acre or 1 lb. per 1000sq. ft.
Seed Depth: 1/4 to 1/2 inch
Planting Time: February - March
pH: 6-6.5 for best results
Fertilize: 200 lbs. of 10-10-10 per acre at establishment
Grazing: If grown in pasture with other grasses, graze to keep grass from shading out the Lespedeza. Allow Lespedeza to go to seed once per year to maintain pasture.
